Import forms

Bring a form you already have into the editor from another tool or from a file such as a PDF or a spreadsheet; this is not in the product yet.

There is no form import in Tinyform yet. Today the only way to start from something other than an empty page is the template gallery, where any of the built-in templates, or a form a colleague shared as one, becomes a copy you can edit.

What it would do

An import would take a form you already run somewhere else and rebuild it here as a draft, so a move does not mean retyping every question. Two routes are planned:

• From another form tool. Connect the account, pick the forms, and get each one back with its questions, its pages and, where the source expresses it, its logic.
• From a file. Upload a PDF, a screenshot or a photo of a paper form, a CSV, a Markdown or Word document, and get a draft with the questions the file describes. Several files at once would give several drafts.

Either way the result would open in the editor for a look before it is published, and anything the import could not read, such as calculations, would be added there by hand.
