How do I delete responses?

Remove one response, a selection, or a whole page of them from a form's Submissions tab, and what is deleted along with each row.

Test entries, duplicates and answers you no longer have a reason to keep can be removed from a form's Submissions tab at /forms/<id>/submissions. A deletion takes the response and everything attached to it in one step, and it is permanent.

Delete one response

Every row in the table has its own bin at the right-hand end. Press it once and the tip changes to "Really delete?"; press it again to confirm. The row disappears and the count at the top of the tab updates.

Delete several at once

A narrow strip at the left edge of each row holds a checkbox. Tick the rows you want to remove and a label reading "N selected" appears in the header with a trash button beside it. Press the button and confirm once in the dialog; every ticked row is deleted together.

The checkbox in the header selects every row on the current page. The table shows 50 responses a page, so that is the most you can remove in one press; move to the next page and repeat for more. A selection only ever counts rows you can see, so switching to another filter (/submissions/completed or /submissions/partial) clears it.

What goes with a response

A deletion is one transaction. It removes the response rows, every file the respondent uploaded with them, and every signature drawn on them, all under that submission's own storage prefix. Nothing about the fill is left behind.

The form's response count goes down by the number of completed responses you removed. A partial submission was never counted, so removing one does not change the figure. On the Insights tab the Answers view's Submissions tile drops with the deletion, while the Visits tab's counts record that a submit happened and do not.

Clearing a form entirely

There is no single control that wipes every response. To start a form again with an empty history, duplicate it from the dashboard's row menu (Duplicate) and share the copy; the original keeps its responses until you delete them page by page.
